Toyota workers feel “betrayed” by the company’s decision to move Corolla production from Cambridge to Mexico, Unifor National President Jerry Dias told the Windsor Star.

“The workers are furious, and for good reason,” said Dias, warning that even the promise of a new vehicle offers little comfort to Team Members worried about losing their jobs.

“A vehicle with a higher complexity can, in no way, replace the volume of your No. 1 selling vehicle in North America.”

Tony Faria, co-chair of the Office of Automotive Research at the University of Windsor, agreed.
