The respected industry publication Automotive News is reporting today that Toyota’s decision to move production of the Corolla to Mexico is giving a boost to efforts to bring Unifor to the company’s plants.

“Here they are, sending the bread and butter to Mexico. It was an eye-opener,” Lee Sperduti, a team leader in the final assembly area of the Cambridge plant, told the publication.

The company’s Corolla decision has led to more cards being signed and increased activity at the Workers Action Centres.
